Purpose of this website
Presentation of the professional activity, services and reference projects of the media owner, and handling of enquiries from prospective clients. This website pursues no political interests and serves no third-party advertising.
Consumer dispute resolution
I am neither obliged nor willing to take part in a dispute resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle).
Privacy notice (GDPR / DSGVO)
I take the protection of your personal data seriously and process it only in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). This notice explains what data is processed, why, and what rights you have.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is the media owner named in the imprint above. For any questions about data protection, write to jan@wagbyte.dev. A data protection officer has not been appointed, as the criteria in Art. 37 GDPR are not met.
2. Enquiry / contact form
When you send an enquiry through the contact form, the data you provide — your name, email address, the type of enquiry and your message — is processed solely to answer that enquiry and to take steps towards a possible engagement.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
- Recipients: form contents are delivered by Resend, acting as a processor. No data is sold or passed on for advertising.
- Retention: enquiry data is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and to meet any statutory retention obligations, then deleted.
3. Server log files & hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., acting as a processor under a data processing agreement. When you visit the site, the hosting infrastructure automatically records technical access data (e.g. IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, browser type). This is necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website).
Both Vercel Inc. and Resend are established in the United States, so data may be transferred outside the EEA. Such transfers are safeguarded by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where the provider is certified, by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
4. Fonts
Web fonts are self-hosted and served from this website's own server. No connection to Google Fonts or any other third party is made to load fonts, so no data is transmitted to font providers.
5. Cookies & analytics
This website sets no cookies at all and uses no local or session storage. There is no web analytics, no advertising tool, no tracking pixel and no social media plugin. Because nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is stored on your device, no consent banner is required.
6. External links
Links to external sites such as LinkedIn, GitHub or client project pages are ordinary links. No data is transmitted to those services unless you follow the link yourself, at which point that site's own privacy policy applies.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with future effect. To exercise these rights, write to jan@wagbyte.dev.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), dsb.gv.at.
8. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
